Purpose of the role:

To work within a prescribed area, the key purpose of this role is to acquire good quality new business from existing and potential clients, ensuring that at all times revenue opportunities are maximised.

Account Management for >75 accounts

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Play an active part in our clients commercial development and to contribute innovative ideas for the development of the business across the full range of the Assets and Forwarding divisions.

Establish close relationships with key customers ensuring that all potential business opportunities are explored.

Establish close working relationships with all key operations within the business.

Understand our clients operational processes in accepting bookings through collection, shipment and delivery.

Submit thorough sales reports in respect of all customer visits, including identifying all possible business opportunities.

Review confirmed bookings summary and ensure that customers with diminished load counts are contacted. To undertake full reviews and investigations.

Establish reasons for changes in volumes, deal with service problems and work to resolve all issues to recover any business lost.

Be involved with key projects as required.

Understand our clients customer service policy.

Increase revenue at every opportunity.

Optimise revenue from both current and new clients.

Be an Ambassador for the business.

Create tailor made solutions by using/combining our clients full range of services , products and capabilities.

Extract order data from system to analyse profitability and performance.

Read and understand business contracts / SOP’s / SLA’s.

Implement agreed Sales Strategy.

Identify opportunities and threats from market perspective.

Product development.

Be aware of, and act in accordance with our clients policies.

Bring to the attention of your Manager any matter that could be detrimental to the wellbeing of the Company.

Carry out any other duties which may reasonably be required by your Manager.

Skills and experience required

Experience in an internationally oriented sales/business development/commercial job role within the logistics sector.

Affinity with logistics and transport, especially container and trailer transport throughout Europe.

Good command of English language and another European language.

Topographical knowledge.

Can do attitude, drive and determination.

Team player with the ability to also work autonomously.

Good knowledge of MS Office packages.

Education / Qualifications – It would be desirable if you are educated to a minimum of Bachelor level or equivalent but not essential.
