About this position

Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Bookkeeper/Accountant on behalf of a rapidly growing eCommerce distribution business based in Slough.

This is an office-based role. £30,000 – £35,000 basic salary, (dependent on experience) plus 25 days holiday plus statutory and excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

Your Mission:

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of bookkeeping for a broad range of industry sectors under one umbrella and will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and providing valuable insights to our clients businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

Be fully dedicated to the role of day-to-day bookkeeping, highly experienced in XERO with strong knowledge of the software management of full Xero entries, AR and AP for a diverse portfolio of small businesses owned under one umbrella.

Support a diverse portfolio of hospitality and logistics businesses with day-to-day bookkeeping and management accounting obligations. Knowledge of VAT and U.K taxation system is must.

Prepare excel data and daily Xero entries and identify the VAT , Taxes and P&L on day to day basis.

Preparation of statutory accounts for all entities.

Monthly management accounts preparation to include profit and losses and balance sheets.

Preparation and Submission of VAT Returns.

Preparation and submission of CIS returns.

Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements.

Oversee and accurately input daily financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and expenses, into accounting software to maintain up-to-date and error-free ledgers.

Cash flow and budgeting management and forecasting.

Prepare Schedules for prepayments, accruals.

Prepare and manage fixed asset registers and post depreciation.

Stock control.

Preparation of payroll runs.

New Company set ups withinn Xero.

Pension submissions and ensuring compliance with the Pension regulator.

Liaising with HMRC.

Dealing with client queries.

Ensure confidentiality of sensitive client data.

Skills and experience required

Ideally AAT qualified or ACCA/ACA early-stage studier with at least 4+ years’ experience as a bookkeeper/management accountant.

Extensive experience in Xero, and a strong understanding of financial management within a dynamic business environment.

High attention to detail.

Master of Excel reconciliation using advanced Excel. Highly proficient on advanced Excel – V Look ups, index and match, pivot tables and joining formulas and XERO. (Xero professionally qualified would be advantageous but is not essential)

Competent using Excel, Word and Outlook.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and familiarity with CIS and VAT rules and regulations.

Highly organised and self-motivated.

Accurate and high attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines.

AAT qualified, but we will also consider applicants part-qualified or qualified by experience.

Experience preparing and reviewing Quarterly VAT returns.

Experience preparing card and cash control accounts, managing pay roll with income and expenditure.

Comfortable with dashboards and data tables.

Experience preparing and reviewing monthly and quarterly management accounts to include consolidations and cash flows.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
