Scope of the Role:

To support the contract logistics team in the development of compelling proposals to secure new business with both new and existing customers.

To develop leading class business intelligence reports for engineering development and KPI reporting.

To ensure contract logistics are kept up to date with the latest product, solutions and trends in the logistics market.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Develop clear and accurate analysis studies on customer data.

To produce engineering solutions that lead directly to cost down improvements or new business wins with new and existing clients.

To support the development of request for quotation proposals.

To develop accurate cost models.

To support the development of business cases when requested.

To prepare in conjunction with the Business Development Manager customer presentations.

To present solutions to customers and stakeholders (internal / external)

To develop with other departments, suppliers, consultants and others as necessary fully costed solutions.

Support the project manager on the implementation of new projects.

Take the lead as project manager on specific projects when requested to do so.

Undertake other analysis projects when required to do so.

Support the development of business intelligence tools as our leading tool for engineering analysis and KPI management.

Undertake specific projects as defined on the agreed years and quarterly targets.

To assist the Contract Logistics General Manager Sales and Business Development in the research and preparation of various assignments.

Continuously search for ways to improve the efficiency of the Sales department.

To carry out of all other task which may be delegated by the Contract Logistics General Manager Sales and Business Development or any other task which may be necessary to successfully carry out one’s job role.

To meet the targets and KPI’s as set by the Contract Logistics General Manager Sales and Business Development.

To be aware of, and act in accordance with, all our clients company policies.

To bring to the attention of your Manager any matter that could be detrimental to the wellbeing of the Company.

Carry out any other duties which may reasonably be required by your Manager.

Other key responsibilities will include:

Working with the General Manager and the Senior Business Development Managers in the generation of high-class proposals and business plans to win new business for Contract Logistics.

Developing well defined and cost-effective solutions to present to both internal and external stakeholders.

Analyse RFQ data and to present summaries, trends and other reports in a clear and concise manner.

Collect information from various internal and external sources.

Gather pre-tender costs and information from third parties and develop a strong network 
of external warehouse and transport providers.

Undertake pre-sales site visits and prepare detailed reports.

Support the project management team with the launch of new business.


Define and create Business Intelligence reports.

Support the running of pre-contract trials.

Skills and experience required

Minimum 2 years’ experience in logistics / transportation / warehousing solution design.

Excellent analytical and solution engineering design.

An innovative mindset and the ability to think outside of the box.

Good knowledge of computer packages – office, business intelligence, load planning and optimisation tools.

Excellent organisational skills.

Strong communication and influencing skills.

A self-starter with excellent organisational skills.

Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel.

Good command of Dutch and English language, third language is preferred.

Excellent presentation and report writing skills.

Educated to a minimum of MBO-level or equivalent in logistics would be desirable, but not essential.

Willing to travel as required.
