About this position

Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Humberside based Transport Planner, on behalf of a rapidly growing, very forward thinking logistics business.

Our client has engaged wth Vidu VIP to commence the initial search process.

Our team of dedicate consultants will be your first point of contact when applying for this role.

If you are experienced in planning and managing high volume customers in general haulage/contract logistics, and you have been looking to diversify your career towards more of a customer facing role with Account Management responsibility, this role will be right up your street.

Scope of the Role:

To ensure the daily plan is completed in real time, managing resources effectively; maximising utilisation whilst minimising cost.

Key Responsibilities:

Controlling and planning the agreed amount of resource.

Understanding and achieving key performance targets – Performance and cost.

Good geographical knowledge of the UK.

Experience of working closely with transport.

Creating collection plans to inform suppliers of loading requirements.

Customer/Supplier/Subcontractor management at a number of levels.

Skills and experience required

Experience in planning and managing high volume customers in general haulage/contract logistics is essential.

Excellent communication skills, spoken and written.

Proven ability to work on your own initiative, prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.

Good organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Ability to handle difficult situations and work calmly under pressure.

Committed team Player with a “Can do” attitude.

A peoples person who will enjoy building good working relationships with colleagues and our clients customers.
